ABOUT LBAS

LBAS is the aircraft services division of the Louis Berger Group. LBAS operates at Naval Station Rota, the largest American military community in southern Europe.

Louis Berger Aircraft Services (LBAS) is the aircraft services division of the Louis Berger Group, now part of WSP. As such, it is part of one of the top engineering and solutions firms in the world. It provides specialized ground handling services to the US Navy and the Air Mobility Command under a contract with the US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), continuing the long-standing tradition of Louis Berger service to the US military.

Since 2016, Louis Berger’s Aircraft Services (LBAS) company has operated at NAVSTA Rota delivering Air Terminal Ground Handling Services supporting the US military requirements 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rota is a busy travel destination and stopover location for the US Navy and the Air Mobility Command. To efficiently meet the demands of the USTRANSCOM contract, LBAS employs nearly 150 people at the Station, almost all of them Spanish nationals, which means that most of the benefits of the contract remain in the city of Rota and its surroundings.

In keeping with the Louis Berger philosophy, LBAS prides itself in providing top notch service to our client, as consistently shown by the US Navy periodic performance assessments  and by the fact that the contract has been annually renewed since starting in 2016.

We also pride ourselves in providing a safe and engaging work environment and well above average work conditions to our specialized workforce, which helps us to successfully meet the dynamic and exacting needs of the US Navy.

Louis Berger has established the Project Transparency & Information Exchange Portal as a project specific informational resource for our employees, and the larger Rota stakeholder community. Key components of the portal are items related to the project – LBAS contract with the Navy, relevant information including legal decisions regarding the on-going dispute with the Union, and facts about the company.
